Ray Moyers

2009-2010 OAAG President

COO of Olympus Media

In addition to his OAAG duties, Ray is Sr.VP/Chief Operating Officer of Olympus Media, LLC. He is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the company and assists with developing new markets. Ray has experienced all facets of the business during his thirty nine years in the outdoor advertising industry. Ray also served on the board of the Florida Outdoor Advertising Association several years ago while working in Florida.

Ray began his professional career in 1970 as a real estate rep with Whiteco Industries in Dallas, Texas. Over a ten year period with Whiteco, he managed five plants, including one in Brussels, Belgium. He was VP of Sales for Melweb Signs in Florida for seven years before joining Peterson Outdoor Advertising in 1987. Ray served as VP/General Manager of POA plants in Ocala and Orlando, Florida. When POA sold to Universal Outdoor in 1996, he was appointed Regional Director for the five Florida plants. Upon the merger of Universal and Eller Media, he stayed on as President of Eller Media's Orlando Division.

In 1998, Ray relocated to Denver to head up a transit operation for Triumph Outdoor. Some 200 shelters were developed in 15 municipalities in two years before it was acquired by Chancellor Outdoor Group and then successfully sold in 1999. He moved back to Orlando in 2000 and became VP/Operations for Bressler Outdoor, the predecessor of Olympus Media Group. He came back to Atlanta in 2005 for a second tour in Georgia when Olympus Media relocated their corporate offices to Alpharetta.

 

Steven Guild

Steven Guild is serving his first year as the Vice President of the OAAG and head of the Public Relations Committee. Serving in the industry for almost twenty years, Steve currently serves as the General Manager for Fairway Outdoor Advertising’s Georgia/Alabama Region based in Athens. Prior to his current position in Athens, he served a similar capacity with Fairway in Palm Springs, California where he also served on the Board of Directors of the California State Outdoor Advertising Association and as National Chairman for the Street Furniture Committee with the Outdoor Advertising Association of America.

Steve’s introduction into the industry began in 1990 in Indiana where he worked with Whiteco Outdoor Advertising as a sales representative selling interstate signs over a five state area. His journey to date has led him to sales manager positions in Arizona and Florida with Whiteco and Eller Media (now Clear Channel) prior to joining Fairway in 2000. In addition to industry affairs, Steve is involved in his community with various charities including serving on the Board of Directors for the East Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross, Executive Board of the United Way of Northeast Georgia as well as being involved in his church in various capacities. Steve is married to his wife Teri and has three children, twin girls Kaitlyn and Allison (5) and David (3).

Joe Garner

OAAG Immediate Past President

Joe Garner is Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Public Affairs of Clear Channel Outdoor-Corporate since January 2007. He is responsible for the growing and protecting of the company's assets in the Southern United States from Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. Prior to this he was VP of Real Estate and Public Affairs for the Atlanta Division. He is still based out of the Atlanta Division Office.

He started his outdoor advertising career in 1994 in Ocala, Florida with POA Acquisition (which has since been acquired by Clear Channel Outdoor) as an account executive. Over the past 15 years he has held numerous positions from Account Executive, Real Estate Manager and General Manager throughout Florida, Tennessee & Texas. Prior to joining Clear Channel Outdoor in December 2003, he was Vice President of the Southern Region for Olympus Media. Joe has leased and developed over 100 billboard sites in 6 states.

Joe is a graduate of Florida State University with an undergraduate degree in Real Estate. He lives in Marietta, Georgia with his wife and 2 young boys.

John Gibb

Formetco, Inc.

John Gibb started his outdoor advertising Formetco in 1969. He has been instrumental in establishing Formetco as the largest and most comprehensive supplier of products and services in the USA. He is now concentrating his efforts on international markets and developing their LED front-lite and back-lite billboards.
Gibb has served has on numerous committees for the OAAA, including President of the OAAA Suppliers Council, chairman the national operations convention in Nashville, Tn., co-chairing the national operations convention in new Orleans, chairman of the Paper Research Committee, a member OAAA Operations Procedures Manual and many more. John is a long- standing member of the OAAG B.O.D. He has served several terms as the Secretary Treasurer.

John Gibb also served 2 terms as chairman of the Gwinnett County Republican Party and a term as chairman of the 9th District Republican Party. Governor Perdue recently appointed Gibb to his second term to the Lake Lanier Island Authority



Kurt McLaughlin

President of Real Estate

Kurt McLaughlin has over fifteen years of experience in the outdoor advertising industry and is currently the Vice President of Real Estate for Olympus Media, LLC, overseeing the real estate portfolio. This involves much interaction with state DOT agencies and local municipalities. He also assists with due diligence and integration work of the M&A Department.
 
Previously, Kurt served as the Real Estate Manager and Operations Manager for Olympus Media Group. He was part of the National Real Estate Team that traveled the United States developing lease sites for the company. He successfully obtained many leases in spite of demanding regulatory environments and heavy competition.
 
Kurt began his career in the outdoor industry as a billposter with POA Acquisiton Corp in Orlando. In addition to billposting.  He also worked with Outdoor Systems in Central Florida as an account executive.
 
Kurt lives in Alpharetta, Georgia with wife, Sissy along with their son Seth, and daughter Sydney. Kurt enjoys golfing, skiing, scuba diving and spending time with his family.

Nathan Merritt

I graduated high school from New Hanover High School 1982 in Wilmington NC. I then attended Miller Monte Business College where I studied Business and Marketing. In 1984 in enlisted in the U.S. Navy where I spent the next 3 years in the Norfolk VA. In 1988 I married my wife of 21 years Rene’ Merritt settled down and began a family; we have 2 children Tadd 20 and Brittany 16.

In 1988 started my carrier in outdoor advertising with Hawk Outdoor d.b.a Pin Point media out of Wilmington NC as Real Estate Representative. In 1996 I took the position as Operations Mgr with Whiteco Outdoor Advertising which changed to Chancelor Media which changed to Lamar Outdoor in the Atlanta Region. In 2000 I moved on to Visual Outdoor Advertising as a Real Estate Representative. In 2001 I became the president of outdoor advertising for R&R Outdoor out of Chattanooga TN and was also elected to the OAAG board from 2001 until 2003. I took a 3 year break form the outdoor industry returning in the fall of 2006 with Fairway Outdoor Advertising as a Real Estate Representative. Early in 2008 I was promoted to Director of Real Estate for Fairway Outdoor Chattanooga Market and in September of 2008 elected back on the board of the OAAG.

Don Nolan

After graduating from the University of North Dakota in 1987 Don worked in television in North and South Dakota as well as in Tennessee as a photojournalist.

Don began his career in Outdoor Advertising in 1994 with POA in Chattanooga, Tennessee. From 1994 until 2002 he was in the positions of Account Executive as well as Team Leader. The ownership changed from POA and eventually it became Eller Media Company which then was renamed Clear Channel Outdoor. Receiving many awards during this time and being named to the Presidents Club in 1999 and again in 2001. The Presidents Club is one the highest honors for sales accomplishments within Clear Channel. Don was also named employee of the year in 2001 for Clear Channel Outdoor - Chattanooga.

In May of 2002 Don was named Vice President \ Area Manager for Clear Channel Outdoor - Chattanooga. With total responsibility for all aspects of the plant including the 34 employees as well as over 400 clients and 1600 billboard faces. In July of 2003 Don was named President and General Manager for Clear Channel Outdoor - Chattanooga. In February of 2004 he was elected President of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Tennessee, which represents billboard operators and others who have an interest in outdoor advertising in the state of Tennessee. Don was re-elected for a second term in September of 2005.

In January of 2006 Clear Channel Outdoor exited the Chattanooga market. In February of 2006 Don was employed by Lamar Advertising of Rome Georgia. In July of 2006 he was named Market Manager for Lamar's new satellite office in the Ringgold Georgia/Chattanooga area. In February of 2007 Don relocated to Atlanta to rejoin Clear Channel Outdoor as its Vice President of Real Estate and Public Affairs.

Don and his wife Pepita live in west Cobb and have three school age children; Delaney, Nicholas, and Joe.

Craig Root

Craig started Vista Outdoor Advertising in 1984. Vista operates with 275 faces primarily in Camden County, GA and Nassau County, FL.  He is Chairman of the St. Marys Downtown Development Authority and  Chairman of the Coastal Area District Development Authority. He also serves on the Coastal Georgia Regional Commission Council and the Board of Southeastern Banking Corporation.

Chris Russell

Chris Russell moved to the Atlanta area in 1996 to join Eller Media Company.  At that time Chris was in charge of all National Sales. Eller was acquired in 1997 by Clear Channel Outdoor. Chris then took the position of Vice President of Sales for Atlanta and in 2000 became the President of the Atlanta Division.
 
Under Chris direction the Atlanta division has acquired several smaller outdoor companies and grown Clear Channel's Atlanta presence substantially. Today the branch has over 950 active real estate leases and over 2000 advertising displays and employees 58 employees. Atlanta now ranks as one of Clear Channel's premier top 10 markets.
 
Chris is a graduate of the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Bill is Chairman of the Board and CEO of See Rock City, Inc. SRC, Inc. started in the Hospitality Industry by purchasing and operating Rock City Gardens located on Lookout Mountain, Georgia. See Rock City, Inc. has become a leader in the Southeast owning and operating the Grandview conference center, adjacent to Rock city Gardens, Battles for Chattanooga Electric Map & Museum located on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee and The Enchanted Maze, a corn maze, located in Chattanooga Valley. SRC, Inc. is under contract with CARTA operating the concessions at the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway.

See Rock City, Inc. owns approximately 200 Additionally almost 100 barns, some of which have been declared Historical Landmarks, are still painted along the Primary Highways from Missouri to North Carolina and from Georgia to Kentucky.

Bill is active in many civic, cultural and charitable organizations in Chattanooga, Northwest Georgia, the Southeast and in the United States. Bill earned a degree in Economics from the University of Virginia. He is married to the former Joan Douglas of Memphis and they have three daughters and a son. The family is active in the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church where Bill serves as a member of the Session.
